Survive is a cutthroat game where players seek to evacuate their pieces from an island that is breaking up, while remembering where their highest-valued pieces are located to maximize their score.
An island made up of 40 hex-tiles is slowly sinking into the ocean (as the tiles are removed from the board). Each player controls ten people (valued from 1 to 6) that they try and move towards the safety of the surrounding islands before the main island finally blows up. Players can either swim or use boats to travel but must avoid sea serpents, whales and sharks on their way to safety.
Survive is very similar to Escape from Atlantis with some key differences.
Survive was reprinted as "Survive: Escape from Atlantis!" by publisher Stronghold Games and hit store shelves in February, 2011. The reprint contains the game Survive, as well as all the extra pieces needed in order to play the game as "Escape from Atlantis".
Survive: Escape from Atlantis ми хареса много повече отколкото очаквах, тъй като всички описваха играта, като нещо подобно на Мънчкин, но с различна тема. И докато това е вярно в някаква степен, защото в играта доста ще си помагате и ще се прецаквате едни други, то Survive е доста по… лека, по-бърза, не толкова „in your face“, както Мънчкин. В същото време поредиците ви от лош късмет ще бъдат също толкова епични, колкото в Мънчкин. Все пак малко неща могат да се сравнят с това кит да ви разбие лодката, в която има три ваши човечета и те да паднат при акулата…
Survive си има и собствен чар. В играта има заложено добро количество стратегия – кое човече на каква плочка ще сложите, на къде ще се опитате да го извозите, дали ще се опитате да си помагате с някого. Десет минути след началото всичко това обаче отива на вятъра, тъй като вие не помните кое човече къде е, някой ви е преместил лодката към която сте тръгнал или просто този, с който сте се разбрали да си помагате потапя лодката, в която има две ваши и едно негово човече.
Това е Survival: Escape from Atlantis – едни забавен хаос от удавници, акули и морски чудовища.
